Division II Bulletin Tabs Dennis as All-America Honorable Mention

Putting the finishing touches on his illustrious career, David Dennis has been named an All-America Honorable Mention selection, announced by Division II Bulletin.

Dennis joins teammate Mark Matthews as the second Shark to be named an All-American following a senior campaign in which he filled up the stat sheet for 15.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.8 assists to go along with 2.8 steals per game on the defensive end. His 28-point effort in the NCAA South Region title game against rival Lynn earned him tournament MVP, and sent the Sharks to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history. In just two seasons with Nova Southeastern, Dennis became only the 15th Shark to surpass the 1,000-point mark, and closed his collegiate career as one of only two players in NCAA history, across all divisions, with at least 1,800 career points, 600 career rebounds, 700 career assists, and 300 career steals.

The latest postseason accolade marks the fourth on-court award for Dennis, with a fifth handed out after earning Google Cloud First Team Academic All-District back in February.

Shaw’s Amir Hinton was recognized as the Division II Bulletin Player of the Year.
