CAHSS Alum Directs restaging of “Pinwheel” (1977) at 2019 Miami Art Basel with Student Dancers and Alumnae

Dance majors in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS):  Brenden Chee, Laura Diaz, Ralph Gefard, and Maria Pusateri, and CAHSS Dance alumnae Alonzo Williams, B.A. (2017). Williams is currently a CAHSS graduate student pursuing a master’s in College Student Affairs. The performances were in collaboration with Anat Ebgi Gallery (LA) and The Kitchen (NY).

In addition to her NSU degree, Talamo received her M.F.A. in Dance from Sarah Lawrence College. She is an assistant professor of Dance at Broward College and has been an adjunct dance professor at NSU and Miami Dade College. Talamo has performed in venues across New York and Florida including The Joyce Theater, Dia Beacon, St. Marks Church, and The Adrienne Arsht Center. She has performed in renowned works including Martha Graham’s Primitive Mysteries, and Yvonne Rainer’s Trio A, under the personal guidance of Rainer, a legendary artist and pioneer of postmodern dance. In 2013, Talamo made her New York choreographic debut with 90 Miles at the Maguire Theatre.
