NSU’s Palm Beach Campus College of Pharmacy students and faculty members participated in the T. Leroy Jefferson Medical Society Community Health Fair at the Max M. Fisher Boys & Girls Club in Riviera Beach, FL. The team worked in collaboration with the Diabetes Coalition of Palm Beach County to provide free diabetes risk assessments and HbA1c (Hemoglobin A1c) screenings to attendees. This annual back-to-school health fair provided the underserved, uninsured, and at-risk members of the community access to free healthcare services and health education. “We were excited to be a part of this event and to provide educational materials and knowledge about healthy living strategies to the community,” said Rochelle Nappi, Ed.D., assistant dean for the College of Pharmacy in Palm Beach.
