NSU University School Students Recognized by the Town of Davie

NSU University School congratulates our Lower School students who have been recognized by the Town of Davie. Fifth grade students Valeria Aran, Stella Carlough, and Madison Haimo were presented with Student of the Month Awards by the Town of Davie. They were selected as award recipients for orchestrating a class trip to Feeding South Florida where they helped provide meals to families in need of food assistance. We are so proud to see our students making a difference in our community and earning recognition for their service.

Sharks Rowing Take Part in Fifth Annual Every Meter Matters Fundraiser

The NSU rowing team held their fifth annual “Every Meter Matters” fundraiser to support pediatric cancer research. The team set up rowing machines and challenged their friends, as well as other students, to short, high intensity pieces. The goal was to track the total number of meters completed and ask for donations to pediatric cancer research through curing kids cancer.

“It was a really successful event and it’s a great way to give back to the community a bit, said head coach Devin Fay. It also gives people a chance to learn how to row and do it for a good cause.”

“We love throwing this event to help those children in need find a cure but also how we love that our team gets to interact with the public more, added junior Kassie Moss. It shows all the dedication and hard work we put into our sport on the daily, educates the public on rowing and also gives them an opportunity to give back, while having fun racing their friends.”

“The whole event of coming together like that creates such a happy and exciting environment and it’s really nice to experience that bond with our teammates outside of practice,” concluded senior Samantha Burgess.

The Sharks raised just over $1,600 and are currently still accepting donations in hopes of reaching their $2,500 goal!

The Office of Human Resources to Host “Becoming a Manager,” a Panel Discussion Open to NSU Employees

This panel discussion is designed for individuals who are interested in becoming a manager or supervisor. This session will review basic skills and competencies that leading others and overseeing a departmental function requires. This panel discussion will take place on March 11, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Knight Auditorium.

What question would you like to have asked of our discussion panel made up of current people managers?
