Enrollment and Student Services will host an ESS Summit in a virtual format on Wednesday, November 16, and Thursday, November 17, 2022. Session topics to be offered will include the following:

  • Leave of Absence Policy
  • Tuition Calculation/Student Fee Policy
  • Roster Reconciliation
  • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Student Health Insurance

NSU Music Presents ‘Peace: A Musical Celebration,’ Dec. 2

NSU Music in the Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts presents the holiday concert “Peace: A Musical Celebration” featuring NSU ensembles and soloists.

“The music will appeal to a large variety of listeners,” said Professor of Music and Theatre Voice Bill Adams, D.M.A. “There will be ancient carols, classic holiday tunes, musical theatre and more.”

International Education Week Kicks Off Nov. 14

The Office of International Affairs is excited to host the 2022 International Education Week (IEW). IEW is a weeklong, nationwide event held to promote and celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. NSU Theatre Presents Agatha Christie’s ‘The Mousetrap’ Nov. 18-20

NSU’s Theatre Program in the Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts presents Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap” Friday, Nov. 18, through Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Black Box Theatre in the Don Taft University Center.

“ ‘The Mousetrap’ holds the world record for the longest run of a play,” said Professor Bill Adams, D.M.A, who serves as the program director for the B.A. in Music and B.A. in Theatre programs. “Through this commercially successful piece of theatre history, our students learn to work with a world-famous female playwright, Agatha Christie, while embodying iconic characters and practicing their British dialect!”

Library’s Semi-Annual Used Book Sale Returns Oct. 26-29

After a three-year hiatus, the 29th Semi-Annual Used Book Sale is back! Thousands of gently used fiction, nonfiction, hardcover, paperbacks, children’s books, CDs, DVDs and video games will be on sale at incredibly low prices!  Many items will be $5 or less and a great way to add to your own personal collection while supporting your library. Proceeds raised from this event support the “Donald E. Riggs Library Education Assistance Fund”.

NSU Dance Presents ‘DanceWorks,’ Nov. 4

The NSU Dance Program in the Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts presents “DanceWorks” on Friday, Nov. 4, and Saturday, Nov. 5, with performances by the NSU Dance Ensemble and original choreography created by Dance faculty and featured guest artists, including Artist in Residence Hattie Mae Williams, Dance alumnus Alonzo Williams and NSU Dance faculty member Elana Lanczi, among others.

Special Olympics 5K Will Be held Nov. 5 on Davie Campus

Special Olympics Florida is holding its 17th Annual Sallarulo’s Race for Champions 5K on NSU’s Davie Campus on Nov. 5. The Sallarulo’s Race for Champions 5K is one of the largest fundraising events for Special Olympics Florida. The run starts promptly at 8 a.m.

A South Florida institution, the event celebrates respect and compassion for all by providing an opportunity for the entire community to walk or run alongside Special Olympics Florida athletes. The funds raised through Sallarulo’s Race for Champions support Special Olympics Florida’s programs right here in Broward County, serving more than 6,000 athletes and their families each year.

Athletes benefit from year-round sports training and competition in a variety of sports and receive health services, inclusive programming, and leadership training all at no cost. Through the transformative power and joy of sport, Special Olympics Florida and Sallarulo’s Race for Champions helps athletes live richer, fuller lives.

Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami ‘Art in Motion,’ Oct. 15

Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami opens another exciting season at the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center with the company premiere of David Palmer’s sultry Quizás, and more!Plus a must-see special performance of Yanis Pikieris’ mysterious Orchids, danced by the next generation of young artists – the talented pre-professionals of Miami Youth Ballet.
