B.A. in Art + Design Student to Present Book at Paris Conference
B.A. in Art + Design student and author Nicholas Waguespack was selected to present his book Wander Type: Vieux Carré at the ATypI Conference in Paris, France in May 2023. The conference is a prestigious, international forum dedicated to type and typography.
“I am extremely excited to be traveling to Paris to present my research and book. It is an amazing opportunity to share my knowledge and artwork while also learning from others in my field,” Waguespack says.
‘Wander Type’ is designed around Waguespack’s own artwork that dives into his journey living and growing up in South Louisiana as a queer individual. The book features typographical analyses of lettering found throughout the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana, that he originally completed in a typography class offered by the Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts.
