With his team continuing its torrid start to the 2018-19 campaign, Nova Southeastern head coach Jim Crutchfield has been named HoopDirt.com’s Division II Coach of the Week, presented by Just Play Solutions.

Fresh off the NCAA-mandated 10-day layoff, the Sharks still didn’t lose a step, throttling the nation’s No. 7 team in Florida Southern, 117-95, last Saturday. The Moccasins entered the ball game surrendering just 73.6 points per game, yet Crutchfield’s club hung 71 alone in the first half. Nova Southeastern set a new program record with its 10^th consecutive victory in the process, and in doing so, also moved to 4-0 in the Sunshine State Conference for the first time since 2008-09.

The Nova Southeastern men’s golf team is just a mere five weeks away from ramping up what expects to be an exciting spring season, beginning with the Matlock Collegiate Classic, hosted by Florida Southern, from Feb. 11-12. FULL RELEASE

Nova Southeastern head softball coach Julie LeMaire has announced the schedule for the 2019 season, set to begin on Feb. 1 at the DII Gulf Shores Invitational in Gulf Shores, Ala. The Sharks are slated to compete in 52 games, including 23 at the AD Griffin Sports Complex. FULL RELEASE

There was one team head coach Jim Crutchfield had yet to beat in his two seasons within the Sunshine State Conference – not anymore. Despite shooting a season-low 37.5 percent from the field, No. 5 Nova Southeastern was able to rely on its defense Saturday night to eventually run away with an 82-62 victory on the road at Florida Tech. The Sharks turned 27 Panther turnovers into 35 points, while also receiving a huge boost off the bench from junior Mikkel Kolstad, who poured in a season-high 22 points in 24 minutes of action. And also, Connor Zinaich not only won his second consecutive SSC Player of the Week Award, but also his second straight USBWA National Player of the Week. The men’s basketball team remain ranked No. 5 and are now 12-0. FULL RELEASE
