Conducted among each of the league’s coaches, four Nova Southeastern women’s soccer players were voted to the All-Sunshine State Conference teams on Wednesday. The Sharks’ three first-team selections in Hannah Christophe, Emma Heikkila and Paige Napolitano marked the most of any program in the 11-team league, while Gaby Moreira earned second-team recognition, respectively. After wrapping up a very successful Fall for the Sharks, Nova Southeastern women’s tennis looks to build on the momentum of one of the best seasons in program history. The Sharks will get there with the help of a pair of new faces, as fourth-year head coach Doug Neagle has announced the signing of transfers TingTing Pei and Karolina Snita to join the program in January for the 2019-20 season. Make it a perfect 5-for-5 for head coach John Constable, as he and his Nova Southeastern women’s soccer team will be headed back to the NCAA Tournament for a fifth consecutive year after the 56-team field was officially announced Monday night. The Sharks landed the No. 5 seed in the South Region and will match up with fourth-seeded Montevallo in the opening round, held at Tom Shepard Field on the campus of Hinds Community College this Friday at 2 p.m. ET. Previously selected as First Team All-Sunshine State Conference performers a week ago, Nova Southeastern men’s soccer players Curtis Thorn, Jan Luca Ahillen and Sebastian Loibl were further recognized on Wednesday, as the trio landed Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Region honors. On the eve of its Sunshine State Conference Tournament semifinal matchup, the Nova Southeastern men’s soccer team is already making headlines, as four Sharks were name All-SSC selections on Wednesday afternoon. Jan Luca Ahillen, Sebastian Loibl and Curtis Thorn were each recognized as first-team members, tying NSU for the most first-team honorees on the list, while Michael Lawrence followed suit on the All-SSC Second Team. Shark swimmers Sasha Maslova and Magnus Poulsen have picked up their third and second Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week awards of the season, respectively, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
