NSU University School Senior Earns National Recognition as 2021 Coca-Cola Scholar

NSU University School is proud to announce that senior Peyton Ronkin is a 2021 Coca-Cola Scholar and the recipient of a $20,000 college scholarship. From 99,403 applicants nationwide, Peyton is among 150 students to be selected for this highly competitive award, making history as the first USchool student to receive one of the top honors in the country. In addition to exemplifying superior leadership, service, and academics, Coke Scholars are change agents, positively impacting others in their community. We are so proud of Peyton for this extraordinary accomplishment.

NSU University School Students Advance to 2021 National Merit Scholarship Finalists

 

NSU University School is proud to announce that all of the 12th grade students who were named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program have advanced to Finalist standing. These are students who scored in the top percentile in the nation on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). All finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarships that will be offered this spring, honoring students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. NSU University School Students Honored As Pinnacle Award Winners

 

 

 

 

NSU University School is proud to congratulate our Pinnacle Award winners Alex H., Connor C., and Alexa M., recognized by the Broward County Non-Public School Association for their outstanding achievements.

Awards are presented to students who set a positive example at home, school, or in the community and excel in one or more of the following areas: academics, community service, citizenship, fine arts, athletics, and student activities. Recipients also exhibit strong character traits, such as perseverance, effort, dedication, commitment to positive goals, improvement in performance, and attitude. We are so proud of our Sharks for this recognition.

 

 

NSU University School Students Win First Place and Second Place in Regional Stock Market Competition

 

NSU University School is proud to congratulate our two fifth grade student teams on winning 1st and 2nd place in the Stock Market Game’s South Florida Elementary Division. At the start of the year, students were given a hypothetical $100,000 in listed stocks, bonds, and mutual funds to build and manage a diversified portfolio, engaging in the world of economics, investing, and personal finance. Students worked together in teams to invest strategically and maximize the return of their portfolios. At the end of the program, the first-place team had a portfolio valued at $125, 582.05, and the second-place team’s portfolio was valued at $109,668.74. Way to go, Sharks!

NSU University School Students Selected to Participate in Stock Portfolio Internship

NSU University School congratulates the Upper School students selected to participate in the highly interactive Stock Portfolio Internship. These students recently met with Chartered Financial Analyst and Nova Southeastern University Adjunct Professor of Finance and Economics Dan Altman who will be leading the experience. Throughout the internship, students will research and create a stock portfolio, gaining experience in the finance industry from a Wall Street Journal “Best on the Street” two-time award winner. Whether students’ interests are portfolio management, corporate finance, investment analysis, or personal investment, they will benefit from learning how an Institutional Investor #1-ranked analyst thinks.

NSU University School Students Selected As Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards Nominees

NSU University School is proud to congratulate the 15 seniors who have been selected as nominees for the Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards – one of the nation’s most highly regarded student awards programs that recognizes outstanding students who have not only maintained good grades but have also unselfishly applied their special knowledge and talents to contribute significant service to their schools and communities.

All nominees from Miami-Dade and Broward County schools will appear on a designated day to be interviewed by a panel of independent judges who will select one Silver Knight and three Honorable Mentions in various categories. The Silver Knight program culminates with a formal awards ceremony in the spring where all the nominees are recognized and the Silver Knights and Honorable Mentions are announced.
